Several languages

How language versions hang together, where you see the translation state, and what only the main language can do.

1 Switching between languages

If your website runs several languages, they appear in the bar as buttons: DE, EN, PL. A click switches the form — you then edit the same page in that language. The small figure beside it, e.g. 15/16, says how many fields still come from the main language; no figure means everything is translated.

2 Structure comes from the main language

Adding, moving, duplicating or deleting blocks only works in the main language. That is deliberate: a translation is the same page in other words, not a different build. In a translation those buttons are therefore not there at all — you fill the fields that exist.

3 Spotting and catching up untranslated text

A block still carrying main-language text is marked in the list and states in figures how many fields are missing. Where an assistant is available, Aus der Hauptsprache (from the main language) on the block takes all of its fields over in one go. Anything you do not translate does not go blank for visitors — the website falls back to the main language.
